As active stewards of the Carmel River watershed, there are several events that keep CRSA volunteers busy throughout the year. In autumn and winter volunteers will meet in the upper tributaries to clear debris that would otherwise prevent fish passage up or down the river. Organized trash clean ups along the river banks protect fish and other wildlife that use the watershed from entanglement, choking, and or death. Our beautiful Carmel River draws many folks to enjoy her gentle waters and seek refuge from busy lives. Unfortunately, human impact can have detrimental effects on the entire health of the river system.

Fundraisers are key events that help keep our projects funded. Monterey County GiVES is an annual event in which local businesses, foundations and individuals contribute to an overall match fund that spurs donations.
